Objectives of the Intercaste Marriage Scheme 2024
The primary aim is to dismantle caste barriers, encourage inter-caste marriages, and eradicate discrimination between castes.
Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant must be a permanent resident of the state.
- The marriage should be registered under the Hindu Marriage Act 1955.
- One spouse must belong to the Scheduled Caste, and the other should be from the Non-Scheduled Caste.
- Only couples marrying for the first time are eligible.
- The application must be submitted within one year after marriage.
Benefits of the Intercaste Marriage Scheme 2024
- An initial incentive amount of Rs 1.50 lakh is credited to the applicant’s account via RTGS or NEFT.
- The remaining Rs 1 lakh is invested in a fixed deposit for three years, with interest provided upon maturity.
